Every part of the conversation — speech recognition, the language model, and the voice reply — runs on a dedicated AI chip inside the toy. There is no Wi-Fi streaming of audio, no companion cloud account, and no microphone-always-listening server. The robot works identically in a car, on a plane, or at grandma's house with no internet at all.
It never leaves the device. Voice is processed locally and discarded — nothing is recorded, uploaded, or used to train anyone's models. Our privacy architecture is independently audited and carries a third-party child-safety privacy certification, so you don't just have to take our word for it.
Yes. OfflineBot runs a purpose-built on-device model tuned for kids' curiosity, storytelling, and back-and-forth conversation. It won't browse the live web, but for imaginative play, learning, and chatting it holds a genuinely natural conversation — and it responds instantly because there's no round-trip to a server.
Curio and Miko rely on cloud accounts and stream a child's voice to remote servers. Classic VTech, LEGO and Mattel toys are offline but use scripted, pre-recorded responses — they don't actually converse. OfflineBot is the only one that combines on-device privacy with real, open-ended AI conversation.
